abriella Tolli vive a Roma, dove lavora nel suo studio artistico.
Fin da bambina dimostra una notevole predisposizione artistica, emersa durante le estati che passava nel casale di famiglia, fuori città, insieme al nonno che dipingeva e scolpiva il marmo.

 Gabriella Tolli lives in Rome, where she also has her artist’s studio. As a child she spent her summers away from the city in the family country home, together with her grandfather, a painter and marble sculptor. It is here that her remarkable artistic inclination emerged.

Esperienza

 

 Lavora per anni nel comparto della Ricerca Scientifica, con un ruolo di ricerca e analisi statistiche congiunturali economiche, mantenendo però sempre viva la sua passione per la pittura, perfezionandosi prima presso la Scuola Delle Arti Ornamentali San Giacomo di Roma, dove sono passati i più grandi artisti e decoratori italiani, da Boccioni a Severini, da Scipione a Mafai e Fazzini, poi alla Scuola Nicola Zabaglia, sempre nella Capitale.

 For many years Gabriella worked in the scientific research sector, with a role in research and statistical economic analysis, maintaining her passion for painting, improving her skills firstly by attending the Scuola delle Arti Ornamentali San Giacomo in Rome, which prides itself on having generated being attended by some of the greatest Italian artists and designers, from Boccioni to Severini, Scipione, Mafai and Fazzini, followed by the Scuola Nicola Zabaglia, in Rome.

Oggi

 

 Attualmente si dedica pienamente alla sua carriera artistica e all’Associazione culturale Ghellarte da lei fondata, incentrata sulla promozione della cultura, della quale è presidente.
Annovera in Italia più di cinquanta esposizioni collettive e numerose personali, tra le quali ricordiamo I Cinque Sensi intuizione e colore presso il Complesso dei Dioscuri al Quirinale, nel 2014.

 At present Gabriella is dedicating herself to her artistic career and to the Cultural Association Ghellarte founded by her, focusing on the diffusion of culture of which she is president. As of now in Italy, Gabriella has participated in more than fifty collective exhibitions as well as numerous personal ones, worthy of notice is the I Cinque Sensi intuizione e colore at Complesso dei Dioscuri at the Quirinale, in 2014.

 Gabriella Tolli si distingue per le notevoli esposizioni all’estero: dal Giappone, con la mostra nel 2011 presso il Fukuoka Art Museum, a Miami con Art Spectrum, curata da EUART Panorama Europa, a Bruxelles, Boston, Berlino, Malta, fino all’esposizione Art States a New York nel 2014 e a Parigi, con la mostra Art Capital del 2018, curata dalla Societè Des Artistes Independants presso il Grand Palais.
Tra i molti premi e riconoscimenti, ha ricevuto a maggio 2020 il Certificato Museale del Maco Museum di Veroli.
Infine, alcune sue opere sono esposte in permanenza presso il Museo Sciortino di Monreale e il Maco Museum di Veroli.

 Gabriella Tolli is also well known abroad having exhibited: in Japan, at the Fukuoka Art Museum in 2011, in Miami with Art Spectrum, organised by EUART Panorama Europa, as well as in Bruxelles, Boston, Berlin and then in New York with the exhibition Art States in 2014 and in Paris with the exhibition Art Capital in 2018, organised by Societè Des Artistes Independants at the Grand Palais. Together with the many prizes and acknowledgements received, in May 2020 she was presented with the Certificato Museale of the Maco Museum in Veroli. Some of her works are permanently hosted at the Sciortino Museum in Monreale and at the Maco Museum in Veroli.

Ricerca

 

 Nella fase di formazione, l’artista ha aderito ad uno stile figurativo accademico, con dipinti olio su tela e soggetti emblematici della classicità e delle arti. In seguito, si distacca dall’idea della perfezione formale e comincia a sperimentare un linguaggio figurativo espressionista, dove predominano i temi della natura e le figure femminili, costruiti attraverso pennellate espressive, rapide e colme di energia.
La sua ricerca artistica non si esaurisce, tesa all’esigenza di abbandonare il limite della forma per poter esprimere le proprie sensazioni emotive; si dedica quindi alla pittura astratta, utilizzando tecniche diverse, olio, acrilico, smalti, fino all’apposizione sulla tela di diversi materiali quali malta, graniglia, gesso e altri.

 During her formation, the artist followed the figurative academic style, oil painting on canvas and emblematic classical and artistic subjects. Then she moved away from the idea of formal perfectionism and began to experiment with the figurative language of expression, where themes of nature and femminine figures, created by rapid, energetic and expressive brushwork, predominate. Her artistic research is ongoing, responding to her need to abandon the limitations of form so as to be able to express her own emotions; dedicating herself to abstract painting, using different techniques, oil, acrylic, enamel paint and eventually employing different materials such as mortar, grit, chalk and more, on canvas.

Stile

 

 In particolare sperimenta un astrattismo geometrico, costruito sui contrasti delle stesure di colore, e al contempo, quasi in contrapposizione, uno stile dove il gesto domina e ricorda l’Action Painting di Pollock, dove i contrasti sono dati da colori sgocciolati su forme sfumate, da parti luminose e in ombra.
Attualmente l’artista si esprime attraverso l’equilibrio e la sintesi dei molti elementi della sua ricerca astratta, creando opere dove le stesure, a volte monocrome, diventano materiche, e spazi geometrici frammentati sui quali, con intensi tocchi di colore, va oltre la bidimensionalità della tela.

 In particular, the artist, experiments with geometric abstractism, built on contrasts made from the strokes of colour, whilst almost in opposition, a style where movement dominates recalling Pollack’s action painting, where contrasts are created by colours dribbling over faded shapes, bright and shaded parts.

Opere

 

 Gabriella Tolli in ogni opera racconta le emozioni nei diversi momenti della realtà: eventi attuali, scoperte di luoghi e persone, eventi sociali, ma anche testimonianze contemporanee.
La varietà dei temi corrisponde alla varietà delle soluzione tecniche utilizzate, come l’olio steso con la spatola o l’acrilico misto al gesso, e dei cromatismi, caratterizzati da una grande intensità espressiva.
Tutti questi elementi, infine, sono trasposti nella dimensione astratta con una grande forza e una potente energia, che sono la sua firma indelebile e indimenticabile.

 At the moment the artist expresses herself through the equillibrium and synthesis of the many elements resulting from her research into abstract art, creating works where the strokes, at times monochrome, become material, and where fragmented geometrical spaces, with intensely coloured touches, go beyond the two-dimention of the canvas. Gabriella Tolli, in every work, speaks about emotions taken from different real situations: actual events, the discovery of places and people, social events, but also contemporary testimonies. The variety of themes corresponds with the variety of techniques used, such as oil spread with a spatula or acrylic mixed with chalk, and with the chromatisms, characterised by a great expressive intensity. All these elements, in the end, are transposed into the abstract dimension with great strength and intense energy, which are her indelible and unforgettable signature.
